Why we built it
FamilyTreeRecord is not a client project. Launchmatic's founders built it for our own family history, and for two years that history lived in Google Sheets.
The sheet held the records, but it was the wrong place for private family data. There were no real accounts, no way to keep sensitive records private, and no family-tree tools. We rebuilt it as software we could ship.
What we built
We kept the structure the sheet had already proven and turned it into a private, encrypted family-history web app. It is live at familytreerecord.com.
